This month, Orion Astropreneur Space Academy (OASA) and Asian Academy of International Law (AAIL) will co-organise the inaugural event for the Space Law Lecture Series.

The July edition of 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗕𝗶𝘇 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀 will explore the thriving space economy, specifically focusing on the increasing number of satellite launches and the crucial role now played by private enterprises in driving the once state-dominated sector. As the world ventures into the final frontier, legal and risk professionals are pivotal in shaping the trajectory of the new era of space commercialisation.

With the global space economy valued at over US$460 billion, the sector is experiencing remarkable growth. SpaceX's deployment of nearly 6,000 Starlink satellites into Earth's orbit within five years marked an unprecedented milestone in the history of satellite deployment. 

This rapid expansion underscores the urgent need for robust legal and risk frameworks to regulate commercial space activities.
